Fox News Headline: Should Massachusetts Reduce Its Sales Tax?
Fox News (national, not local) ran a feature story on our Roll Back the Massachusetts Sales Tax ballot initiative on Friday, 4/30/2010.
A few corrections for the record:
(1) Carla Howell is registered INDEPENDENT. Our Sales Tax Roll Back ballot initiative is a non-partisan, grassroots campaign.
(2) $28 B is only part of total state spending. This is what Massachusetts politicians and media call the “Statutory Budget, ” but usually refer to it as simply “THE budget” — giving the impression that it’s total state government spending. But TOTAL Massachusetts government spending is actually much higher: $52 billion (and rising!)
